ashpkt Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 OK. Just thought it would be good place to start a thread for all of you to vent your frustration when a team you follow "Snatches Defeat from the Hands of Victory" in an epic way. I'll start off the thread with...The Pittsburgh Steelers http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=281026023 Evidently the long snapper is the most critical player on their roster.
rushbass Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Pick any loss from Auburn this year... so many to chose from!

Can I retroactively post each Eagles loss of this season?
softfilter Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Terrrelle Pryor OSU freshman QB, Admire the kid but he attempts to do to much and made fatal turnover in a defensive grudge match against Penn State. Cost the Bucks the game along with a forced underthrown pass that was intercepted in the endzone and more then likely handed the Big Ten Title to the Nittany Lions. What the hell is a Nittany Lion anyway?
Necromancer Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 This year's Michigan/Penn State fiasco. We had them again, and they managed to not only come back, but DESTROY us. What a bad year for Big Blue.
Anthemic Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 see also: the detroit lions. This thread reminds me of years ago when i was teaching my wife about football. we were watching a lions game and she asked if anyone ever missed the extra point. lo and behold the lions proceeded to miss TWO extra points in that game, and lose by 1 point. go lions.
ashpkt Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Unfortunately the thread topic was the first thing that came to mind as my Okla St Cowboys fell short of knocking off Texas this past weekend.

They never led in that game. It was more of a general thought. If you were a Okla St fan you would understand. Kinda like, not being able to enjoy being in the Top 10 b/c you're waiting for the downfall to come. OSU could produce a 2hr "Agony of Defeat" video special. Meltdowns always seem just around the bend. My pessimism is best explained by telling you I grew up in the Philly area. Nuff said.

Oklahoma State is a damned good team and I new that the game would be close. We should probably carry this over the the College Football thread.
ashpkt Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 Looks like TEXAS is this week's nominee. Crabtree is still open. OSU gave Tech the blueprint.

OMG I have a big screen TV, Time Warner Cable and a DVR, so I can pause and replay right? So my wife was watching off and on, hears me yelling about the long snap going over the QBs head...and practically right into the living room! So she's watching me act like a QB/Ass and as I pause, say HUT hit play and take the snap...well you know the rest...the hairy eyeball, then the eyeroll, and the why me god muttered as she walks away (yeah I'm a Giants fan) BUT I thought this thread was in response to the latest Browns fiasco, up what 17 against the Ravens at home..and BLOW IT???? ARE YOU SERIOUS????

ARE YOU SERIOUS???? The pick this week has to be Kansas City letting Tampa Bay win in OT. I was watching the Titans/ GB game and saw KC up 21 points going into the 4th quarter on an update. I said cool, that'll put Carolina up a game and a half. What happened Chiefs? Dang.
Raider917 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 how much worse can Al Davis let the Raiders get? only 77 total yards this week

softfilter Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 The Cleveland Clowns... Browns For the secound time in less than a week blow a two touchdown lead by losing to a weak? Broncos club 34-30.
ashpkt Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 Dear Joe Pa, It pains me to do this but, you're this week's nominee.
goose Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Anyone catch the Monday Night NFL game? In a span of two minutes the goat went from Niners' quarterback to the Cards'punter back to the Niners, finally resting in their coach's bonehead last-second calls. Seemed neither team wanted to put this one away.

Seemed neither team wanted to put this one away. It was a good back and forth game. SF proved it could play competitively. Arizona fell short of proving they can do anything in the playoffs. Kurt Warner did prove he is still an incredible passer. Man he's got touch!

ashpkt Posted November 16, 2008 Author Posted November 16, 2008 Holy crap. Anyone see the Troy meltdown against LSU? Up 31-3 in 3rd, Troy allowed LSU to rattle off 5 TD's and 1 FG in the span of 15 minutes.
lerxt1990 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I saw the biggest suck-a-thon in NFL history today. Eagles-Bengals. These two teams both blow copious aounts of monkey balls. The Bengals may win it in OT. Its like theyre seeing who can out-suck each other. The refs are trying to give it to the Bengals - they just called an absurd penalty on the Eagles.
lerxt1990 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 That was the worst football game Ive seen in years. Seriously.
