Hatchetaxe&saw Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I like it, but Stick It Out sticks out though(haw haw). It's a bloody horrible mess of a song.
nealpert Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 wow. I'm glad i waited to see the setlist before buying tickets.

Some Half-Forgotten Stranger Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I don't know why but for reason, although I complained about the set list...a lot...now, I'm really happy with what they are playing!!! Probably the thrill of a tour and that I have no control over what they play.
ReflectedLight Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 QUOTE (nealpert @ Jun 30 2010, 04:08 AM) wow. I'm glad i waited to see the setlist before buying tickets. you're not the only one. i'm passing on this one.
Nim2 Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 have tickets for Columbus and now must decide if myh finanaces and desire are enough for a second show. not sure at this time.
Presto-digitation Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 (drum solo I just read....sorry) Was wondering if they whipped out a new one!!
DetachedandSubdivided Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 LOVE the setlist!! Can't wait to see it next week!!! All the first-time-to-be-played songs, new stuff, MP in its entirety... very much looking forward to it!!!!

GeddyRulz Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 QUOTE (dilbertyard @ Jun 29 2010, 09:27 PM) Rush Time Machine Tour set list revealed! QUOTE LOVE 4 SALE Possibly a short "joke song" by the guys? QUOTE FAR CRY Love it! QUOTE LA VILLA STRANGIATO Love it!
rushfan4life Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I'm still holding out hope that they somehow manage to add a show in the NYC arena sometime during this leg. Granted, I would take out a few songs, I still dig the setlist. SET 1 THE SPIRIT OF RADIO- my favorite song TIME STAND STILL- one song I've always wanted to hear live PRESTO- eh could do without, sub it for Cinderella Man STICK IT OUT- another I could do without, sub it for Anthem WORKIN' THEM ANGELS- eh alright, you gotta throw some S&A stuff I suppose LEAVE THAT THING ALONE- cool, I dig it FAITHLESS- not a bad choice, I like this one BU2B- obvious has to be on FREE WILL- cool, I dig MARATHON- eh not the biggest fan, why not sub it for Driven? SUBDIVISIONS- that's a good set closer SET 2 TOM SAWYER- all of MP, so I'm not gonna say anything about it RED BARCHETTA YYZ LIMELIGHT CAMERA EYE WITCH HUNT VITAL SIGNS CARAVAN- yes, the other new song, still good LOVE 4 SALE- cool to hear that neil uses a new buddy rich song, although I liked cotton tail CLOSER TO THE HEART- I know most of you can't stand this one or are sick of it but I've never heard it live, so I'm pumped to finally hear it 2112 OVERTURE / TEMPLES- good to see some part of 2112 back, although next time they come around, I wanna hear 2112 in its entirety FAR CRY- eh kinda weak close out, but still gotta throw the biggest hit from S&A on there ENCORE LA VILLA STRANGIATO- cool one to bring back WORKING MAN- another good one but closer worthy? i feel like there should be one more song all in all, I like the setlist. I like them playing all of MP but I would like to see them play all of 2112 next time around.
nealpert Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 i was really exited about this tour, hoping for many older obscure songs. No Jacob's Ladder but they play Presto! (without the solo at the end) I think i could easily go the rest of my life without ever hearing CTTH. Moving pictures is great but they played 5/7 songs last tour. I've seen VT, R30 and S&A And was really hoping for something different this time. I loved it when alex used every guitar he had on the VT tour. Very sick of seeing a Les Paul the whole concert again. Would it kill him to play broon's bane again? I finally realize the "Time machine tour" just means "Time to make money again"

Jaminbenb Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Wow....whiners! it's it's LIVE Ok...would it kill them to play Lakeside Park?
Merely Space Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 QUOTE (Jaminbenb @ Jun 30 2010, 09:54 AM) Ok...would it kill them to play Lakeside Park? Well, they ARE getting up there in age...
irish_matt Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Has anyone ever really given a thought as to why they are doing this tour..?? No, it's not going to be a huge money spinner for them, and no, it's not because they wanted to play all of Moving Pictures in it's entirety. It's because they wanted to do a shortened tour so they could immediately enter the studio and cut the new album while they a on top of their game and their chops are together. This tour gives them the chance to play a few B side style songs, never to be heard live again. The novelty of playing an entire album... forget ever hearing TCE live after this tour. After everyone's bitching for years.. you'd better be happy with it. They could so easily have just done what they always do... lock themselves away and record the whole album and then tour it. Which would mean, much like the S&A tour... 5-7 new songs in the set list, pushing out the chance of stuff like TCE of JL. Matt
Bluefish Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I like the set list, but Alex said in an interview that they were going to play Jacob's Ladder. I wonder what happened. I hope they rotate it in.
priest_of_syrinx Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 QUOTE (Jaminbenb @ Jun 30 2010, 08:54 AM) Ok...would it kill them to play Lakeside Park? It would kill me I feel like I'm one of the few who just does not like that song. I'd actually rather hear I Think I'm Going Bald, and there are still many, MANY songs I'd put before even that.

Yes, but I think most "real" fans look forward to seeing every tour (if they can afford it) and are not so uptight about the setlist. Boycotting the tour because of 3-4 songs in the first set seems like an odd reaction for a fan, IMO. Especially when this could be one of their last tours. Looking back in ten years when Rush has retired, will you take a lot of satisfaction knowing that you skipped the 2010 tour because of the setlist?
